Formula
The coefficient is 500 divided by a fifth-degree polynomial of body weight. Men and women use different published coefficients. The score is that coefficient times the total:
Score = total × 500 / (a + b×kg + c×kg² + d×kg³ + e×kg⁴ + f×kg⁵)
The male coefficients begin −216.0475144 and 16.2606339. The female coefficients begin 594.31747775582 and −27.23842536447. IPF Goodlift points are a different formula and are not used here.
Assumptions
- Body weight and the total are kilograms.
- The coefficient set matches the equation you choose.
- The total is squat plus bench plus deadlift, already added.
Worked example
The male coefficient at 80 kg body weight and a 500 kg total scores 341.3.
Input definitions
- Powerlifting total
- The sum of the three lifts, in kilograms.
- Coefficient
- The original Wilks male or female polynomial.
Limitations
A score does not say whether a lift was legal. Newer federation points formulas will not match this page.
Questions
Is this IPF points?
No. IPF replaced Wilks with a different points formula. This page is the original Wilks coefficient.
Do I enter three lifts?
No. Add them first and enter the total.
