Formula
Fees are the referral plus the flat amount. Profit subtracts those fees and the product cost:
Profit = item price − product cost − referral − flat fee
Shipping you pay is not a field here. The profit calculator uses a percent fee and shipping instead of a flat fee.
Assumptions
- The referral is a percent of the item price.
- One unit is sold.
Worked example
A $48.00 price, $18.00 cost, a 15% referral, and a $0.99 flat fee leave $21.81.
Input definitions
- Product cost
- What the unit cost you. Zero is allowed.
- Flat fee
- The fixed marketplace charge for the order.
Limitations
This is a planning estimate, not payroll, tax, shipping, or marketplace advice. The currency control changes the symbol only.
Questions
Why is shipping missing?
The existing profit page already subtracts shipping and a percent fee. This page swaps shipping for a flat marketplace fee.
Can the result be a loss?
Yes. The label changes to Loss when fees and cost exceed the price.
