Formula
The fee is the item price times the percent, rounded to the nearest cent:
Fee = item price × fee percent
Product cost and shipping are not removed. The profit calculator does that for one sale.
Assumptions
- One percent applies to the whole item price.
- No flat fee is added.
Worked example
A $48.00 item at 15% costs a marketplace fee of $7.20.
Input definitions
- Item price
- The price the fee percent is applied to.
- Fee percent
- The share the marketplace keeps, from 0 to 100.
Limitations
This is a planning estimate, not payroll, tax, shipping, or marketplace advice. The currency control changes the symbol only.
Questions
Where do I add a flat closing fee?
Use the seller fee calculator. This page is only a percent of the price.
Does this subtract my product cost?
No. Marketplace profit subtracts cost and both parts of a seller fee.
