Formula
Annual pay multiplies the hourly rate by weekly hours and by weeks worked:
Annual pay = hourly pay × hours per week × weeks worked
The salary calculator locks the year at 52 weeks. This page lets you type a shorter year.
Assumptions
- Every counted hour is paid at the same rate.
- Unpaid weeks are left out by lowering the week count.
Worked example
$25.00 an hour, 40 hours a week, for 50 weeks is $50,000.00 a year.
Input definitions
- Weeks worked
- Paid weeks in the year, from 1 to 52.
- Hours per week
- Paid hours in one of those weeks.
Limitations
Overtime premiums are not added. Use the overtime calculator for a single pay period.
