Formula
Each unit costs the sum of the three materials. The total multiplies that by the unit count:
Packaging = (box + filler + label) × units
Carrier postage is not included. That is the shipping calculator.
Assumptions
- Every unit uses the same box, filler, and label.
- The amounts are the cost of one unit's materials.
Worked example
A $0.80 box, $0.15 of filler, and a $0.05 label for 200 units cost $200.00.
Input definitions
- Box, filler, and label
- The material cost of packing one unit. Each can be zero.
- Units
- How many packs the total covers. Zero is allowed.
Limitations
This is a planning estimate, not payroll, tax, shipping, or marketplace advice. The currency control changes the symbol only.
