Formula
Wholesale markup is added on top of the unit cost:
Wholesale price = unit cost × (1 + wholesale markup)
This is the price the retailer pays you. It is not the price the retailer charges a shopper.
Assumptions
- The markup is a percent of your unit cost.
- One unit is priced. Volume discounts are not applied.
Worked example
A $12.00 unit cost and a 35% wholesale markup set a wholesale price of $16.20.
Input definitions
- Unit cost
- What one unit costs you before the wholesale markup.
- Wholesale markup
- The percent added for the retailer price, from 0 to 1,000.
Limitations
This is a planning estimate, not accounting, tax, payroll, or advertising advice. The currency control changes the symbol only.
