Formula
Only whole games count:
games = floor(free GB / game GB)
The storage page divides a drive by a file size and can leave a fraction. This page refuses a partial game.
Assumptions
- Every game is the same size.
- Free space is what remains after the system.
- Units are decimal gigabytes.
Worked example
500 GB free, with each game at 80 GB, holds 6 games.
Input definitions
- Free space
- Decimal gigabytes available for games.
- Each game
- The gigabytes one installed game occupies.
Limitations
This is a planning figure from the numbers you type. It is not a measurement of a network, a camera, a printer, or a power supply.
Questions
Why not 6.25 games?
A quarter of a game does not launch. The floor leaves 20 GB unused.
Where do photos go?
On the storage page, which counts files of a megabyte size.
