Formula
Business days start from the weekday count and remove holidays you enter:
Business days = weekdays − weekday holidays
The result does not go below zero. The working-days page does not remove holidays.
Assumptions
- Holidays you enter already fall on a weekday.
- The page does not look up a holiday calendar.
Worked example
January 1, 2026 through January 31, 2026, after 1 weekday holiday, leaves 21 days.

Limitations
A holiday that falls on a weekend should not be included in the count.
