Formula
A continued fraction searches for a numerator and denominator close to the decimal:
Decimal ≈ numerator / denominator
The search stops at a denominator of 10,000.
Assumptions
- The decimal is a finite number you type.
- The closest fraction within the denominator limit is used.
Worked example
0.75 as a fraction is 3/4.
Input definitions
- Decimal
- The number to convert, such as 0.75.
Limitations
A repeating decimal may be shown with a nearby fraction when the exact denominator would be larger than 10,000.
Questions

How do I go the other way?
