Formula
Every page is treated as the same length:
Words = pages × words per page
This does not read a document. Reading time starts after you have a word count.
Assumptions
- Each page has about the same number of words.
- Blank pages are left out of the page count.
Worked example
10 pages at 300 words a page is about 3,000 words.
Input definitions
- Words per page
- Your estimate for one full page.
Limitations
A real document can be shorter or longer than a flat words-per-page estimate.
Questions
Does this count the words in a file?
No. You type the pages and the words you expect on each page.
How long would that take to read?
Use the reading time calculator with the word count.
