Formula
Absence uses the same class count as attendance, but starts from the misses:
Absence = classes missed / classes held
Attendance and absence add to 100% when the missed count is the classes you did not attend.
Assumptions
- Each missed meeting counts once.
- Missed classes are part of the classes held.
Worked example
3 classes missed out of 45 held is 6.67% absence.
Input definitions
- Classes missed
- Meetings you did not attend.
Limitations
This is a planning estimate for school or a calendar. It is not an official transcript, an attendance record, or a payroll ruling.
Questions
Is this the same as 100% minus attendance?
Yes, when the missed count is exactly the classes you did not attend.
Does an excused absence stay out?
Leave it out of the missed count if you do not want it included.
