Formula
Minutes are added first and every 60 becomes an hour:
Total minutes = first duration + second duration
The minutes page converts one duration into a minute total. The time duration page measures between two clock times.
Assumptions
- Minutes are from 0 to 59.
- The durations are being added, not subtracted.
Worked example
2 h 40 min plus 3 h 50 min is 6 h 30 min.

What happens at 60 minutes?
They carry into the next hour. 40 plus 50 becomes 1 hour and 30 minutes.
