Formula
The countdown is the gap before the target. The target day itself is not included:
Days until = target date − start date
The birthday page repeats a month and day. This page uses one specific target date.
Assumptions
- Both values are calendar dates.
- A target on the start date is zero days.
Worked example
From October 14, 2026 until December 25, 2026 is 72 days.
Input definitions
- Count from
- The day the countdown starts.
- Count to
- The target date.
Limitations
Time of day is ignored, so the count changes at midnight.
Questions
Is the target day included?
No. The morning of the target date is zero days away.
What if the date has passed?
The label changes to days since.
