Formula
The hour stays the same, so the mile length is the whole factor:
km/h = mph × 1.609344
This converts a speed number. It does not divide a distance by a time.
Assumptions
- The value can be zero and cannot be negative.
- The result is shown with up to six decimal places.
Worked example
1 mile per hour equals 1.609344 kilometers per hour.
Input definitions
- Miles per hour
- International miles per hour.
Limitations
A vehicle's speedometer error is not included. Knots are a different page.
